measuring your windows

Position curtain rod about 1 inch below the top of the window frame to allow for the header of the curtain. Decide where you want the curtains to fall: Window Sill, Apron, Base-board or Floor.

Measuring
Always use a wood or metal ruler to measure the length and width.

Length
Measure in inches from the top of the rod to your chosen length. Order the closest length offered. If you'll be using decorative rods such as café rods with rings, measure from the bottom of the hooks.

Width
Measure the length of the curtain rod and the distance the rod projects from the wall on both sides. Multiply total width by 1 1/2 to 2 to obtain the curtain width needed.
